NaSBA launched its first major report on 12 January 2009 at a press conference in London. We now plan to run a series of regional forums, if there is enough support for them. An outline of a typical forums is shown below. If you are interested in attending one, let us know...once we are sure there’s enough demand we’ll get it organised and extend an invitation to you. For further information or to register your interest in attending a forum meeting contact info@nasba.org.uk

Outline description of a typical NaSBA forum to demonstrate the ease and effectiveness of self building as a housing solution.

Are you concerned about what is happening to the housing market?  Are you currently unable to meet local or regional housing, sustainability and community targets?  Did you know that self built houses now outnumber those built by any of the largest volume developers?

Come to the innovative forum hosted by the National Self Build Association (NaSBA).  The forum is particularly aimed at local authorities (especially representatives from Planning policy, Estates, Audit, Housing and Sustainability); landowners and land bank owners; housing associations; housing providers and other partners.

The forum will consist of a number of presentations and practical workshops. Meet Tommy Walsh and learn about his £60k self build house. Learn from projects currently under construction – how they were sourced and funded, who benefits (including local residents seeking housing) and how it can work in your area.  Delegates will leave with an understanding of the many financial, social and environmental advantages in supporting self build, and all the contacts needed to start or support schemes locally, regionally or nationally.
