THE MURRAY ARMOR AWARD
We are keen to get your suggestions for worthy candidates to receive the Murray Armor award. As you may recall, this is an annual award in memory of Murray, the author of many books on self build. What we’re looking for is someone who has battled through adversity to get their project built.
So the award could go to a self builder who’s disabled or very old, or a single mother, or someone who’s done a huge amount of the physical work themselves. Alternatively it could be someone who built a home very cheaply, or had a real battle with the planners or Building Control department, or someone who has pioneered a new innovation or construction technique for the self build sector.
All you have to do is suggest someone who you think is a worthy recipient’ send me (naomi.handford-jones@buildstore.co.uk) or our Chairman Ted Stevens (tstevens@seafa.co.uk) a brief e-mail about the person you think deserves the award, along with your (or their) contact details. We plan to do the judging in late October and announce the winner at the AGM in November. There is a trophy and a cheque for £200 up for grabs for the winner!
